fonts-guru-extra software package provides Free fonts for Punjabi language, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-guru-extra
fonts-guru-extra is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-guru-extra package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-guru-extra *
You will get with fonts-guru-extra package name, version, architecture and description in a table
